Orlando Day Trip Head North |
Our recommendation when heading north of Orlando is Florida’s great outdoors.
The natural springs near Apopka, just north of Orlando
provide a unique experience away from the hustle and
bustle of the crowds at the theme parks. One of the most
popular parks is Wekiva
Springs State Park which offers lots of outdoor activities including hiking, canoeing, horseback riding and swimming.
Learn more about the activities
at each state park and view a regional map.
Another web site that can provide information on outdoor
activities north of Orlando is Visit
Seminole.
Want to head a little further north the Ocala National Forest is another state park where you can stretch your legs and get away from it all. If you plan on heading there consider staying overnight as it is about 75 minutes away from Orlando.
And a little further will take you to Gainesville which is home to the University of Florida which is a powerhouse in both football and basketball. |
